Project 4: Project Manager

My role involved me taking a lead role in supervising and advising the group on what our approach to the project should be, along with the other project manager. I was responsible for making sure the group stayed on task and on track so that the website would be ready for the deadline and met the criteria given to us in the brief. I was also responsible for making final decisions in terms of what content and the designs to put onto the website.

Reflection on my role:

I enjoyed this role, more than my previous roles, as for me it was far less stressful than product and dissemination as that role had a bigger workload. I liked having more of a say with the other project manager in in what approach to take and what pieces we wanted to include, such as keeping the website light-hearted and appealing and placing GIFs as well as the colour scheme. What made my time as Project Manager easier, was having a good team who all worked hard and communicated well, as one of my worries was my team not completing their work within the set timeframe, which would have made the whole process a lot more stressful. However, despite my worries, I enjoyed my role, and it has taught me skills that I will take forward in future projects.

How well we worked as a team:

As a team, we all worked well together, as we stayed in regular contact throughout the project and set a timeframe in the form of a table, and in our first group meeting, we decided that we wanted to take a light-hearted/ humorous approach so it will be more enjoyable to read through. This contributed to our success, as everything was completed and submitted on time. However, the team was stressed at points due to personal reasons, but we were able to overcome those issues and produce work we were all proud of. Moreover, the groups communication went well, enabling us to get work done even when we were not sure what were supposed to do. We also helped each other with tasks and not leave someone to do it on their own when they were unable to do so, and meetings in the seminars also helped us clarify things together.

The finished media product:

When the project was completed, everyone was pleased with how it turned out. It met all the criteria in the brief and reflected everyone’s hard work, and all the tasks were done well and completed on time, making the whole project a success.
